There are a couple of ways to initiate the process of creating a Project Template:
From the Project Templates Gridview. On the top navigation bar, click on the settings wheel and choose “Project Templates” item from the dropdown menu list.
From here, you can click on the “Create Template” button to begin the process of creating a project template.
When creating a new Project. You can select the “Project Template” option from the Project Type field while creating a new Project.
Creating a Project Template is very similar to creating a normal Project, with a few notable differences.
The following fields are removed from the create Project form:
- Requester
- Received On
- Due On
You do not need to specify a Matter, though you can if you feel it’s appropriate for the type of template you’re creating.
The Project details screen only contains Tasks (No Media Log Entries, Billing Entries, Volumes, or Attachments).
The following fields are removed from the create Task form for tasks that belong to a Template Project:
- Due on
- Assigned To
- Upload Attachments
Required fields in Task Forms are not required while filling out a Template (but they are required when using the template).
The Task detail cards do not contain linked objects (No Comments, Media Log Entries, Billing Entries, Volumes, or Attachments). You can, however, specify subscribers.
